Natural stone stain removal

Every day our Stonecare Section receive a lot of questions from customer like: "I just leave some oil out on the kitchen table. Though I have carefully cleaned, stain still spills out.” or “How to clean yellow stains caused by coffee" or "My stone floor has a large discoloration, I can clean it or It must be replaced by new ones"

We are sure that these are just some of many questions and concerns of users when encountering similar problems in daily life. If the stone have properly been sealed, then the above questions will be fewer. However, there are countless reasons that cause stains on stone. Stains appear when there is a substance that penetrates deep into the stone surface to a level that you can not wipe by the ordinary way. To clean stains, we need to use appropriate cleaning products.

It is experts’ advice to follow these steps to remove stains,:
1. Determine the type of dirt before cleaning
2. Clean up as soon as possible. It is more difficult to remove stains if left too long.
3. When stains apear, clean with a towel or white paper.
4. Wipe the stain gently, do not clean up stains or spills further out.
5. Use a sufficient amount of chemical to clean stains.

To determine the type of dirt, we need to answer the following questions: What causes stains? What is color stain? Where is the stain? How long the stains have been there? Is it any connection between stains and high traffic? Then, we will make it clear what the type of dirt is:

1. Organic stains (i.e. coffee, tea, coloring agents of dark sodas and other drinks, gravy, mustard, etc.)
2. Inorganic stains (i.e. ink, color dies, dirt – water spilling over from flower and plant pot, etc.)
3. Oily stains (i.e. any type of vegetable oil, certain mineral oils – motor oil, butter, margarine, melted animal fat, etc.)
4. Biological stains (i.e. mildew, mold, etc.)
5. Metal stains (i.e. rust, copper, etc.)
