Natural stone tabletops have frequent contact with food or drink. So the first important thing to do is to ensure that tabletops are sealed with appropriate products such as Hidro Protector MM , Pro TW Lux produced by Faber (Italy). In addition, periodic re-sealing should be implemented according to the instructions of suppliers. However, sealing can not fully protect the surface against acidic substances. So a simple way to protect natural stone tabletops is daily proper use and care.

Granite tabletop

Granite countertops are surprisingly resilient to stains, and practically impossible to scratch. But, as a preventative measure, blot (do not wipe) up any spills on the countertops within a reasonable amount of time. Don't let liquid sit on countertops overnight. Granite is most prone to staining by oil and acid, so blot these spills up soon after they happen, and then clean the stone with products created for stone care like Neugel , Algafloor .

If the liquid has formed stains, use chemicals to remove stains. There are different kind of products for stains treatment depending on the type of dirt. If stains caused by oil, grease, use No Oil . If stains caused by tea, coffee, pens, juice… then No Mac Gel should be used. If stains caused by acidic substances that make the surface fading and shine loosing, users should contact professional services suppliers for proper treatment.

Marble tabletop

Marble countertops and tabletops are are easily stained by acidic foods like fruit, tomato sauce, coffee, and wine. Therefore, be very careful in maintaining it. Blot, do not wipe, any spills immediately, then clean with a neutral PH or stone care product like Neugel , Algafloor . In case of stains caused by tea coffee, wine, juice, .... No Mac Gel should be used to handle.

Always use coasters, pads or mats to place hot pots, dishware or containers. Use coasters under drinking glasses, particularly those containing alcohol or citrus juices to avoid etching. Avoid cleaning products unless the label specifies it is safe for natural stone.
